LOWER BACK PAIN
Pain in your lower back can present suddenly after activity or lifting something heavy or it may even gradually increase in discomfort over time and certain activities. If lower back pain has not resolved within 3 days of onset you should consult your health professional or call us at Park Road Chiropractic. Pain that lasts longer than 3 months is regarded as chronic. Your chiropractors will take a comprehensive medical history and perform a physical examination which may lead to a referral for diagnostic imaging such as an xray, CTScan or MRI.
Lower back Pain can present in many ways which may include:
groin, buttock or upper thigh pain
local central lower back pain
pain which is worse with sitting and/or standing
shooting pain travelling into buttock, leg and foot
hip pain
pain which improves on movement
Causes for functional lower back pain may include:
sciatica
herniated disc
spinal stenosis
spinal curves (scoliosis or kyphosis)
muscle spasms/tears/strains
pelvic/leg length differences
arthritis
